The College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF) will confer approximately 421 degrees during two Commencement ceremonies Saturday, May 15, at the St. Joseph's Health Amphitheater at Lakeview, Syracuse. The morning ceremony, beginning at 10 a.m., will be for students graduating from the. EsfEditor 1.4.6.zip updated esf editor from just for editing TWS2 esf files. The morning ceremony, beginning at 10 a.m., will be for students graduating from the departments of Environmental Resources Engineering, Environmental Studies, Landscape Architecture, Sustainable Resources Management, and the Open Academy.
The afternoon ceremony will begin at 3 p.m. for students graduating from the departments of Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Biology, and Environmental Science.
During the ceremony, ESF will confer approximately 375 bachelor's degrees, with about 46 students receiving master's and doctoral degrees.
The College will also be holding commencement ceremonies at its Ranger School in Wanakena, New York. The College will award Associate in Applied Science degrees at the Ranger School in an in-person and virtual ceremony. Those graduates will include 24 students in the forest technology program, 27 in the environmental and natural resources conservation program, and four in the land surveying technology program.
They will receive degrees during an in-person ceremony on May 15, celebrated in the presence of two family members per student. Scholarship awardees will be recognized, as well Maple Leaf awardees, President's and Dean's List recipients, and inductees into the Forest Technology Honors Society. Awards will also be given to program scholars.
Guest speakers will include Dr. Christopher Nowak, chair of the Department of Sustainable Resources Management, and a representative from the Ranger School Alumni Association.
In Syracuse, commencement weekend festivities begin with the Class of 2021 Champagne Toast on the May 12 Quad at 3 p.m. (registration begins at 2:30 p.m.) commencement rehearsal will immediately follow the toast. The rain date is May 13.
The Inclusive Excellence Graduation Reception will be held virtually May 13 at 9:30 a.m. This reception honors and celebrates the diversity of ESF's graduates. Each graduate will receive a special 'Inclusive Excellence' graduation cord to wear at commencement.
The Honors Students' Ceremony will take place in person on May 14 from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Gateway Center Conference Room. Friends and families will be able to view the ceremony remotely. During the ceremony, advisors will introduce the Honors Student who worked with them and briefly describe their thesis work.
Thomas L. Woltz will be presented with the Honorary Degree during Commencement ceremonies Saturday. Woltz is a landscape architect who engages in a research-based design process that draws inspiration from restoration ecology and cultural landscape history to inspire the design of vibrant contemporary landscapes. As Principal of Nelson Byrd Woltz Landscape Architects (NBW), Woltz has guided his team in forging a diverse body of work that includes productive agriculture, arboreta and botanic gardens, public parks, campuses, and cultural institutions.
Undergraduate Class Marshals leading the degree candidates in the Commencement procession are Rosemary Adrat of Rockland County, New York (environmental science) and Jessica Proctor of Trumansburg, New York (conservation biology).
During the ESF ceremony, departmental honors will be bestowed upon the top students in each of the college's discipline areas.
Angelica Rosa Gonzalez of Miami, Florida (environmental studies) and Timothy Webb-Horvath of Galway, New York (environmental resources engineering) will be the student speakers at the 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. ceremonies respectively.
Gavin J. Duncan of Concord, North Carolina (environmental studies), will present the class gift.

Beckett of Suffield, Connecticut (chemistry); James Kennison of Cypress, Texas (environmental biology); Briana M. Fitzgerald of Scotia, New York (environmental resources engineering); Michael J. Bonvell of Lakeland, New York (environmental science); Arik Palileo of Danton, Texas (environmental studies); Angelia Rossi of Newburgh, New York (landscape architecture); and Madeleine Desrochers of St. Johnsbury, Vermont (sustainable resources management
