The Ford 4000 is a 2WD utility tractor. The first generation was manufactured from 1962 to 1965, the second from 1965 to 1967. This is the third generation was manufactured by Ford in Highland Park, Michigan, USA from 1968 to 1975. The Ford 4000 is equipped with one of two engines: a 3.3 L three-cylinder diesel or gasoline engine and one of two transmissions: the Dual Range transmission with 8 forward and 2 reverse gears or the Select-O-Speed transmission with 10 forward and 2 reverse gears.
The Ford 4000 utility tractor used the Ford gasoline or diesel engine. It is a 3.3 L, 3,294 cm2, (201.0 cu·in) three-cylinder natural aspirated engine with 112.0 mm (4.41 in) of the cylinder bore and 112.0 mm (4.41 in) of the piston stroke. The compression ratio rating is 16.8:1 for the diesel version.
The Ford 4000 is equipped with manual or hydraulic power steering, mechanical wet disc brakes, open operator station and 60.5 liters (16 US gal.; 13.3 Imp. gal) fuel tank.
